Where can you enjoy the most fun holiday with your dog in Val Venosta? The optimal choice is at Lake San Valentino alla Muta- where the snow-covered landscape makes every walk an adventure. Luckily, your four-legged friend is also welcome at Hotel Alpenrose: for €20 per day, we will provide dedicated rooms as well as a separate area in the restaurant. Responsibility for any damage to the hotel or to third parties lies with you.

Excursion Tips with Your Dog
Lake San Valentino alla Muta

A beautiful circular trail around the lake – perfect for winter walks with your dog. The path is relatively flat and easy to walk. 

 

Walking time: approx. 1.5 hours for the full circuit (4.5 km)

Lake Resia and the Sunken Church Tower

The iconic sunken church tower is a popular photo spot. The trail around Lake Resia offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the frozen lake. Perfect for a leisurely walk or a longer hike with your dog.

 


Walking time: circular route approx. 3.5 hours (15 km), shorter walks possible

Winter Hike Melag - Melager Alm

From Melag, the trail leads up to the idyllic Melager Alm in Vallelunga – a winter hike that takes you and your four-legged friend through snow-covered landscapes.

 


Walking time: approx. 1.5 hours round trip (approx. 5 km)

Winter Hike to the source of the Adige river

The source of the Adige river above Resia is a beautiful destination for a day trip with your dog. The path winds through quiet, snowy forests and meadows.

Winter Hike to Plawenn

The winter hike to Plawenn offers breathtaking views over the snow-covered winter landscape of Val Venosta – perfect to enjoy together with your dog.

 


Walking time: approx. 1 hour from Fischerhäuser to Plawenn (around 4 km)

Plawenn sled run

For those who don’t want to miss some slope fun, Plawenn has a little-known gem: a natural sled run about 2 km long. Access is free, and visitors can explore the winter landscape at their own pace – ideal for unforgettable adventures with your dog.
Note: Preparation of the sled run depends on snow conditions.

Cross-Country Ski Trails

Just a stone’s throw from the hotel, beautiful cross-country ski trails await you and your four-legged companion to explore.

Winter Hike Reschen – Vallierteck – Froj

A lovely winter hike with stunning panoramic views of Lake Resia and the surrounding mountain peaks.

 


Note: In winter, trail no. 6 up to Vallierteck is used as a toboggan run, so be careful when ascending along the edge of the slope! Snowshoes are recommended for the descent. A good level of fitness is required.

Snowshoe Hike Reschen – Plamort

A beautiful snowshoe hike offering magnificent views over the valley, fantastic panoramas, and historical highlights.

Snowshoe Hike to Brugger Alm
